PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove malodor from garbage or toilet by forming a catalytic body having many catalyst thin plates arranged in multiple stages on the outer periphery of a cylindrical heater such as a sheath heater, housing the catalytic body in a vessel and passing a gas containing the malodor through a gap between the catalyst thin plates and the vessel. SOLUTION: This device is constituted so as to form the catalytic body having many rectangular catalyst plates 2, each of which is notched in one side and arranged in multiple stages on the outer periphery of the cylindrical heater 1 such as the sheath heater, to house the catalytic body in the rectangular vessel 3 and to pass the gas containing the malodor through the gap between the catalyst plates. As a result, the gas B containing the malodor is brought into efficient contact with the heated many multistage catalyst plates 2 to be efficiently oxidized and deodorized. |
