Wide-band communications system especially for in-house multimedia data communication

The system includes several interrelated wireless communications arrangements (1) for a wireless communication with at least one communications terminal (2) within a communications cell. The wireless communications arrangement are formed for a wide-band data transmission over a power supply network (4). Preferably, the wireless communication arrangement is provided for data transmission using radio or infrared radiation. The infrared transmission between the wireless communications arrangement and the communications terminal is carried out using amplitude modulation of the infrared base-band.
