PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of a shear load on a connection member, when a pad cover is extended, while holding rigidity of a support member at ordinary time in a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A retaining plate 30 has a plurality of slits 34 in a direction orthogonal to a straight line connecting between rivets 32. The slit is positioned on a straight line and burst when a pad cover is extended. An air bag in an ordinary condition is stored and contracted in the pad cover. In this ordinary condition, since the retaining plate is a single sheet of the plate integrally formed through a part or the like between the slits, rigidity thereof is ensured, and a mark member is surely fixed to the pad cover by the retaining plate. Accordingly, apprehension of the outer periphery of the mark member separating from the pad cover by aged deterioration is eliminated. When a vehicle leads to a rapid deceleration condition, the air bag is inflated, the pad cover is pressed from inside, and the retaining plate is burst in the vicinity of the slit and separated. Accordingly, the retaining plate is broken before a shear load is applied to a shaft part of the rivet. |
