<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment process of organic waster water using sludge containing aerobic organisms, which permits high-load treatment, requires small installation area and requires no aeration. SOLUTION: In this treatment process of organic waste water, BOD- containing waste water is biologically treated by treating this waste water with sludge containing aerobic organisms in the presence of nitrate ions and/or nitrile ions. This nitrate or nitrile ion-generating substance may be added to the treated waste water and/or treating device. The nitrate or nitrite ion- generating substance is preferably a water-soluble compound generating these ions, e.g. nitric acid, a nitrate such as sodium nitrate, potassium nitrate, magnesium nitrate, ammonium nitrate or the like or a nitrite such as sodium nitrite, potassium nitrite, ammonium nitrite. These compounds may be used independently or in combinations of two or more. Also, nitrified liquid, etc., of ammonium- containing waste water may be used.</p> |
