1475222 Steam generators WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 19 May 1975 [21 June 1974] 21165/75 Heading F4A In a steam generator including a housing 3 surrounding a heat exchanger tube bundle 7 enclosed in a heat exchanger tube wrapper 27, a steam collecting and moisture removing section 11 is formed at the other end of the housing 3 and riser tubes 47, 49 are provided between an orifice plate 57 and the top surface 33 of the wrapper 27 for passing steam from the space 35 enclosed by the wrapper 27 to the section 11. Water enters the housing 3 through inlet means 32. The riser tubes have moisture separating devices disposed therein which consist of two telescopic sections 47 and 49, a fist section 47 being mounted on the wrapper top surface 33 and the second section 49 being mounted on the orifice plate 57 with a sliding seal formed between the sections of the riser tubes. Within the riser tubes 49 is a plurality of axially spiralling vanes 53 and the second section 49 of the riser tube is provided with ports 62 for discharging the moisture separated from the steam. The steam which is collected is passed through an orifice 59 in the orifice plate 57 and outwardly through a steam outlet nozzle 39 in the head portion 37 of the shell 3. A pre-header portion 31 is provided in the lower portion of the tube bundle 7 . Second moisture separators 45 are provided in the upper section 11 of the shell 3. |
