PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a desired discharge amount and a desired discharge speed of ink drops by inputting a selected characteristic of a recording head at a specific driving condition to a neural network means and selecting a control table for each characteristic of the recording head from output information of the neural network means. SOLUTION: A discharge speed and a discharge amount of ink drops are measured by driving a head under an environment of a specific temperature with the use of a control parameter necessary for driving the head. The measurement is carried out by every plurality of number of times for each head type set beforehand. A driving environment condition and a jet characteristic, and the head type are assigned to a neuron of an input layer and a neuron of an output layer with the use of a hierarchical neural network respectively. The head type is obtained at output information of the network by inputting the jet characteristic under an existing condition as the input information. A control table set beforehand is selected from the output information, so that the fine control parameter conforming to the characteristic of the head is obtained. |
