PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the clogging and to hold the spalling resistance of a nozzle over a long time by constituting at least the inner hole part of the nozzle coming in contact with molten steel of a refractory composed of the specific contents of alumina, manganese oxide, iron oxide and inevitable impurities. SOLUTION: A nozzle 10 for continuous casting has an almost cylinder shape in which one piece of the hole 11 is provided. Then, an inner hole part 1 coming in contact with molten steel is not constituted of another composition different from another part and the whole nozzle is constituted of a refractory having the same composition. The composition of this refractory is made to contain 50-90 wt.% alumina, 10-50 wt.% manganese oxide, 0-40 wt.% iron oxide and <=3 wt.% inevitable impurities. This refractory has good wettability with the molten steel because the contacting angle with the molten steel is <=90 deg.. Therefore, in the nozzle 10 for continuous casting by using this refractory, an alumina inclusion in the molten steel is hardly stuck to the refractory. |
