PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the noise level of a vibrating conveyor shifting an article in the horizontal direction via sliding movement. SOLUTION: A linear trough is supported vibratably in the horizontal direction, a speed instruction f(t) with a serrated wave-form is applied to the excitation source of the trough, and an article on the trough is conveyed in the prescribed direction by this driving method of a vibrating conveyor. The speed instruction f(t) with a serrated wave-form is expanded to the Fourier series 2.a/π×(sinωt+1/2 sin 2ωt+1/3 sin 3ωt+...+1/n sin nωt+...), where (t) is time,ωis angular frequency and (a) is amplitude, and only the low-order component is used as the speed instruction.
