PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject fragrance-generating material capable of rapidly and continuously generating a fragrant smell when heated, and useful for containers to be heated with microwave ovens, or the like, by using a temperature-controlling component together with a microwave-absorbing and heat-generating component and a fragrance-generating component. SOLUTION: This fragrance-generating material comprises (A) a microwave- absorbing and heat-generating component such as an Mn-Zn based ferrite, barium titanate or silicon carbide, (B) a fragrance-generating component [for example, a fragrance-generating component comprising (B1 ) an amino acid, (B2 ) a saccharide and (B3 ) a fatty acid. A mixture of the compound B1 with the compound B2 is used, when the generation of a roasting smell is desired, or a mixture of the compound B1 , the compound B2 and the compound B3 is used, when the generation of a frying smell is desired], and (C) a temperature- controlling component (for example, a compound containing crystal water or structure water, such as calcium phosphate octahydrate or calcium sulfate hydrate). The components A, B and C are preferably used in amounts of 5-60 wt.%, 0.1-20 wt.% and 40-95 wt.%, respectively. |
