PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new polypeptide having a high homology to the whole length of a specific amino acid sequence, and useful for the treatment and diagnosis, etc., of hypertension, myocardial diseases, stroke, heart diseases, Alzheimer's disease, diseases related to hormonal disorders, etc. SOLUTION: This isolated new MPROT15 peptide contains an amino acid sequence having at least 70% homology to the whole length of an amino acid sequence of the formula. The above peptide and MPROT15 polynucleotide are useful for the treatment and diagnosis, etc., of hypertension, myocardial diseases, stroke, heart diseases, Alzheimer's disease, diseases related to the processing of a peptide hormone or a cytokine.
