A seat assembly for a vehicle comprises a seat, at least one cross-member 90, 92 and fixing means for fixing the cross-member directly to a plurality of seat tracks provided in the vehicle. The cross member is adapted to be fixedly secured to a lower part of the seat so that it extends transversely between a front pair of legs 78 and/or a rear pair of legs 76. Preferably each cross member is adapted to be secured to two substantially parallel tracks, as found in an aircraft, by two foot fixings. The seat may be formed with a movable portion comprising a seat pan, a back rest and a leg rest movable between an upright and a fully reclined position (Fig. 5). |
