摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a granular carrier, having a uniform particle size and high abrasion resistance, for a catalyst and its production method, and an excellent method for hydrogenating hydrocarbon oil. SOLUTION: This granular carrier for a hydrogen treating catalyst consists of an oxide selected from alumina, silica, titania, zirconia, and zeolite, has a diameter of 2-7 mm, no difference in density between the surface part and the internal part thereof, a pore volume of 0.5-1.3 ml/g measured by a method of mercury penetration, an average pore diameter of 150-300 &angst;, and a ratio of the pore volume having a pore diameter of >=1000 &angst; to the whole pore volume of <30%. This catalyst uses the above carrier, and this method for hydrogenating hydrocarbon oil uses the catalyst.
