PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform printing on other printer when one printer is in unprintable state by transferring print information received from a host computer to other printer upon detecting a fact that one printer is in unprintable state. SOLUTION: When a sheet is not present, network connection is tried for other printer having a network address stored in an RAM 9. When connection can not be made normally with a printer P-n, print information can not be transferred and it is handled as sheet run-out error. On the other hand, a printer P-1 is disconnected from a destination printer P-n and print information is transmitted again from the printer P-1 to other printer while a data '1' is transmitted to a host computer H. Consequently, print information can be transferred to other printer when a designated printer is in unprintable state. |
