PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin oriented film having a high surface strength, excellent embossing processability and good ink adhesive properties. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin oriented film comprises an oriented film base material layer (A) containing 40 to 85 wt.% of a thermoplastic resin and 60 to 15 wt.% of inorganic or organic fine particles, and an oriented film surface layer (B) provided on at least one side surface of the layer (A) and containing 70 to 10 wt.% of inorganic or organic fine particles each having smaller mean particle size than that of the inorganic or organic fine particles of the layer (A) and a void fraction represented by a formula: (ρ0-ρ1)/ρ0×100 of 5% or more, whereinρ0 is a true density of the thermoplastic resin oriented film andρ1 is a density of the thermoplastic resin oriented film.
