The steering wheel (1) has its hub (2) fixed on the steering shaft and connected to the periphery of the steering wheel by a branch (4,5). Steering wheel padding (15) rotates on the steering shaft end (10) and two resilient cams (27,28) are fixed on the steering column. The cams can move between an engaged position, to lock rotation of the padding, and a disengaged position.
