PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dielectric porcelain compsn. having a high insulation resistance at the time of use at a high intensity of an electric field and having low voltage dependency of the insulation resistance by incorporating a principal component consisting of BaTiO3 having a specified alkali metal oxide content, Eu2 O3 , Gd2 O3 or the like, BaZrO3 , MgO and MnO represented by a specified compsn. relation and a specified amt. of silicon oxide as a subsidiary component. SOLUTION: The dielectric porcelain compsn. contains a principal component represented by the formula BaO}m TiO2 +αR2 O3 +βBaZrO3 +γMgO+gMnO and 0.2-5.0 mol (expressed in terms of SiO2 ) silicon oxide as a subsidiary component based on 100 mol principal component. The alkali metal oxide content of the BaTiO3 is <=0.02 wt.%. In the formula, R2 O3 is one or more selected from Eu2 O3 , Gd2 O3 , Tb2 O3 , Dy2 O3 , Ho2 O3 , Er2 O3 , Tm2 O3 and Yb2 O3 , α, β, γand g show molar ratios, 0.001<=α<=0.06, 0.005<=β<=0.06, 0.001<=γ<=0.12, 0.001<=g<=0.12, γ+g<=0.13 and 1.000<m<=1.035. |
