PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite material having thermally sprayed layers which are excellent in reaction resistance (powder-product-chemical-medicinal liquid-atmosphere), has impact resistance, creep resistance, spalling, respectively, wear resistance and low friction coefft. as well and have lightweightness, high strength and high reliability and a process for producing the same. SOLUTION: This composite material is constituted by forming the thermally sprayed layers on the surfaces of the fiber composite material 7 having the matrix consisting of yarn assemblies 6 which are three-dimensionally combined with yarns 2A, 2B contg. at least bundles 3 of carbon fibers and carbon component exclusive of the carbon fibers and are integrated so as not to separate the same from each other and Si-SiC-base materials 4A, 4B, 5A, 5B which are packed between the yarns 2A, 2B adjacent to each other in these yarn assemblies 6. |
