PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deformation of a bead part, which arrest the air filling property in replacement of rim after traveling by forming a bead core of a bundle having a substantially pentagonal section formed by winding a steel wire covered with rubber, and setting the bottom edge of the bead core substantially parallel to the bead base surface. SOLUTION: A bead core is formed of a substantially pentagonal sectional bundle formed by winding one steel wire covered with rubber a plurality of times. The bottom edge angleθto the tire axis of the pentagonal sectional bead core is preferably set smaller from the point of rim assembling property. The proper arrangement of the bead core of a load heavy pneumatic tire to be mounted on a rim having the taper of a bead seat of about 15 deg., the bottom edge of the bead core is set to be substantially parallel to the bead base surface of the tire. On the other hand, the bead base angle a is preferably set to about 20 deg.-23 deg. to the tire axis. According to this, deformation of the bead base part can be suppressed to facilitate the rim assembling work, and floating of the toe part can be also prevented.
