Bean meal manufacture - from broken beans by separating low and high grade parts and removing former pneumatically

Broken beans are turned into beam meal for human consumption by separating in a dry milling process the low-grade parts from the high-grade parts. After pneumatic separation most of the low-grade particles are passed to a cracker where remaining shell parts are removed. The light products are finally separated from the solid products in a pneumatic separator. This recovers 65-70% of the broken beans for human consumption; the meal produced from them fetches five-times the market price of the present broken beams which are used as animal feeding stuff.
