Divided net drum on board fishing vessel - has drive unit fitted with clutch and brake and independently rotatable drum parts

The net drum for use on board a fishing vessel has a central wheel hub (1) with two end discs (2, 3) one of which (2) is connected to an e.g. hydraulic or electric drive motor (7) via a clutch (6). A band brake (8) is provided on the outer circumference of the clutch. The drum hub has a central thickened region (9) at which point it is divided (10) so that the two drum parts can turn independently of one another about the axle (11). A shaft (14) connected to the first part passes through the hub of the second drum part to which it is coupled by a clutch whereby this second drum part has a brake. The two bearings (12) for the second drum part are formed on the shaft (14).
