Thread cutting tool for internal pipe thread - has end face cutting edges inclined at small angle

The thread cutting tool is especially used to cut thread in pipe connecting sleeve or inside pipe ends which are made as castings. Thread cutting will be possible with this tool even if part of the bore inside which the thread is cut is obstructed by protrusions or other faults in the cast part. This is made possible by cutting edges (3) which are provided on the end faces of the cutter. These cutting edges are placed at an angle of between 1.5 and 5 deg. The swarf clearance angle also lies between a value of 1.5 and 5 deg.
