The blood letting and sampling equipment uses sealing sampling cannula. A plastic plunger with rubber sealing cap is used to produce the desired vacuum in the sampling tube by drawing it up the tube just prior to actual blood letting, using a pull strap or rod with a weakened break point, and simultaneously sealing the tube. A ball valve is arranged between the cannula which pierces the patient's blood vessel and the cannula which pierces the rubber sealing cap. The tube has merely to be pivoted through an angle to release the vacuum, causing the sample to be drawn up into the tube and then pivoted back to immediately seal the sample off, producing a sterile sample. |
