A broken bone screw extractor has a handle connected to a body portion which has a longitudinal hollow portion extending therethrough. A longitudinal threaded shaft transverses the longitudinal hollow portion. A chuck device capable of encircling a broken bone screw is provided at the end of the longitudinal threaded shaft, the ends of the chuck that contact the bone being sharpened, and thus capable of cutting in to bone tissue. In operation, the chuck is positioned over a severed bone screw and manipulated to a depth sufficient so that the chuck can be tightened about the bone screw. Once secured, the chuck is rotated to extract the broken bone screw from the bone. |
