<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood club head with characteristics meeting players of a wide range by directly fixing weight near to the clubface on the inside surface of the sole surface within a hollow wood head made of a metal having a head volume of a specific value or above. SOLUTION: The bar-shaped weight 4 is directly fixed from a toe side to a heel side near the inside surface of the clubface 3 on the inside surface of the sole surface 2 within the wood head of the hollow structure made of the metal having the head volume of >=250 cc. Namely, the prismatic titanium weight 4 of 20 mm in width, 50 mm in length and 20 g in weight is welded near the clubrace 3 on the inside surface of the sole surface 2 of the head body 1 in a position of 15 mm from a leading edge 5. The dimensions of the head body are specified to 110 mm in the length of the clubface 3 49 mm in the height and 90 mm in the width of a shell part 6 welded with a face member on its front surface. In this embodiment, a centroid depth (the length of a perpendicular line from the head centroid onto the clubface 3) is set at 25 mm and the centroid height at 20 mm.</p> |
