The invention relates to a measuring technique and a measuring system especially suitable for non-invasive measurement of the function of at least one organ of a user. The system comprises a transmitter unit 200, which is attached to the body of the user, and a receiver unit 202, the transmitter unit 200 from at least one organ sending linked measurement information to the receiver unit 202, wherein, according to the technique, at least one sensor 208, 210-214 is used to measure something other than the function of the organ of the user whilst the user is using an activity machine. The measuring system comprises a holder 206, one part of which constitutes an information-gathering unit 204. The receiver unit 202 is fixed in the holder 206 and the said at least one sensor 208, 210-214 transmits its measurement information to the information-gathering unit 204. The information-gathering unit 204 transmits the gathered measurement information to the receiver unit 202 by means of inductive interaction. <IMAGE>
