FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is catalyst system for polymerization of diolefins comprising (A)-salt of general formula ML<SB>3</SB> wherein M is Sc,Y or any metal with atomic number from 57 to 71, and L is anion, except for halogen, (B) compound of general formula <EMI ID=0.269 HE=6 WI=9 TI=CHI> wherein Me is metal belonging to group I, II or III of Periodic Table, <EMI ID=0.270 HE=3 WI=3 TI=CHI> is aliphatic or cycloaliphatic radical containing from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, aromatic radical containing from 6 to 20 carbon atoms of hydrogen atom; Z is integer of 1 to 3 which is equal to valency of Me provided that if Z is 3, only one of three groups <EMI ID=0.271 HE=3 WI=3 TI=CHI> bonded with metal is hydrogen, and (B) organometallic compound is boron compound of general formula: R<CHF>2@3</CHF><SB>-m</SB>(C<SB>6</SB>H<SB>5-n</SB>R<CHF>3@n</CHF>) wherein R is linear or branched aliphatic radical containing from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, cycloaliphatic radical containing from 6 to 20 carbon atoms; aromatic radical, containing from to carbon atoms; R is F or CF<SB>3</SB>; m is integer of 1 to 3, and n is integer of 1 to 5. The resulting polymers have high content of 1,4-units and changeable ratio between 1,4-dis and 1,4- trans units if desired, and also narrow molecular weight distribution.
