The coating contains a bisphenol-A diglycidyl ether-based epoxy binder and 2-methoxy-1-methylethyl acetate as a solvent. A method for providing a previously untreated heat-galvanised metal surface with a surface coating containing a polymer binder and a pigment uses an epoxy-based binder system based on a bisphenol-A diglycidyl ether, dissolved in a solvent system comprising 2-methoxy-1-methylethyl acetate. An Independent claim is also included for the use of a paint comprising 10-20 wt.% bisphenol-A diglycidyl ether, 1-5 wt.% xylene, 5-10 wt.% 2-methoxy-1-methylethyl acetate, 10-20 wt.% N-butyl acetate, 5-10 wt.% titania, 5-10 wt.% zinc chromate, 1-5 wt.% chromium (II) oxide, 5-10 wt.% chromium phosphate and 10-20 wt.% talc, as a primer for previously untreated heat-galvanised goods. |
