The control unit (6) is integrated in the piston (4) and consists of a self-acting 5/2 valve. The hydraulic medium is introduced via the cylinder head (2) as opposed to the offtake which runs alongside the piston rod (5). The feed also contains its own pump (P). The cylinder extends in a rapid traverse movement and the cylinder head necessarily guides the piston rod, typically via rings and the housing (1) end furthest from the cylinder head is closed off by a cover used for the pump switching operation. The piston (4) has a second piston rod differing in diameter from the main rod (5).
