The shift joint comprises a joint outer part (11) with a cylindrical cavity (12) with an opening (13) at one end, and another end (14) which has a floor enclosing it. At the open end a material caulking forms a rise (20) whose inner cross-section reduces the cylinder cavity. A torque transmitting element (23) is guided into the opening in the cavity under deformation of the rise.
