The invention concerns a tyre with height/width (H/S) ratio ranging between 0.3 and 0.8, comprising a casing reinforcement (1) whereon is radially mounted a quasi-cylindrical breaker ply reinforcement (3), said casing reinforcement (1) being tangent at T to a so-called catching circle C, the common tangent at T to said circle C and to the casing (1) meridian profile forming relative to a line parallel to the axis of rotation passing through the tangency point T, an angle alpha ranging between + 20 DEG and - 80 DEG , and in its part included between said tangency point T and point E of greater axial width, provided with a reinforcement armour (6) made of circumferentially inextensible elements; viewed in meridian cross-section, the casing (1) has a profile, when the tyre is mounted and inflated at its recommended pressure, consisting of four arcs: one first arc TA with radius r'1, tangent to the catching circle C, and having an intersection point A with a second arc AE with radius r''1, tangent to the straight line D perpendicular to the axis of rotation passing through point E of greater axial width, a third arc EF of radius r2, tangent to the second arc AE at point E and tangent to a fourth arc FG, at a point F, distant from the straight line parallel to the axis of rotation passing through the centre OJ of circle C by an distance d, the values d, r1, r2 satisfying the relationships: d = r2 + (r1 + arJ + eT) cos alpha and r1 = r2RSS/RSS - r2, whereas r'1 and r''1 range between or are equal to the values r1 and/or 2r1, and a fourth arc FG of radius RTC equal to a transverse radius RT of the breaker ply reinforcement, reduced by at most the casing reinforcement minimal thickness. |
