<p>An abrasive wheel, particularly for grinding cutting edges on blades, has a spiral abrasive surface (19) formed by assembling split rings (10), each edged with abrasive medium, onto a hub. The split rings bear on a spiral surface (24) of a flange (8) at one end of the hub, and are interleaved with spacer rings (2). The spiral abrasive surface (19) meshes with the spiral abrasive surface on a complementary wheel. By assembling the wheel in this fashion, manufacturing costs are reduced and a greater depth of abrasive medium can be used.</p> |
