A tile insulation plate, which is placed on a solid base, for use as a carrier plate for floor or wall tiles, comprises an upper layer (20) and a lower layer (10). The lower layer consists of a soft elastic damping material which is less strong and dense than the upper layer. Both layers are joined to form a single component.
