An inkjet printer (I) comprises tanks for inks with a number of colors and a printer head with nozzles for the inks. Each tank contains a pigmented, water based ink comprising at least a pigment, water and a dispersing agent whereby the ink droplets have an average particle diameter of no more than 0.1 microns and the wt. ratio of dispersing agent to pigment is 1.2-5.
