A selector unit permits choice of the types being dispensed, with the different fuel types being dispensed via a common hose (23). The dispensing hose before dispensing is emptied of a fuel type different to that about to be dispensed. The dispensing hose is divided into a fluid channel and a gas channel. For emptying the dispensing hose, a check valve is fitted on the tap valve (22) and is openable between the fluid channel and the gas channel. By build-up of gas excess pressure in the gas channel the fluid out of the fluid channel can be fed back, whereby the gas channel with the check valve opened is cut off from the atmosphere.
