The device uses an aperture plate positioned in front of the treated eye, with a hole diameter of less than 0.25 mm and a hole spacing of at least double the eye pupil diameter, for providing a dosed quantity of sunlight. The aperture plate has a UV filter, with a light blocking shield positioned in front of the other eye with a diameter which is greater than the eye diameter, at a variable distance from the aperture plate.
