A method for joining a cast part (1) and a case-hardened steel part (2) by means of welding. The inventive method consists in removing a large part of the surfaces that are to be welded (3, 7) from the parts (1, 2) that are otherwise finished for preparation purposes in order to obtain a narrow groove (10, 11). Said parts (1, 2) are subsequently assembled and welded by means of a high energy jet, providing an austenitic weld (28). A component thus formed can also contain another round bottomed groove (6) which is parallel to the weld. The invention enables high quality, high fatigue strength, mass-produced joins to be made between various materials. |
