<p>The present invention provides a substance which has the property of inhibiting the sequence specific DNA binding activity of p53, said substance being based on the fragment of the DNA binding core domain of p53. The substance is shown to inhibit p53 DNA binding in vitro and transactivation function in living cells. The invention includes the use of these substances, and in screening for mimetics.</p> |
