The invention concerns the immunologic assay of human chromogranin A (CgA) and a kit useful for said assay. Said assay comprises a step for detecting said chromogranin A (CgA) by reacting at least one monoclonal or polyclonal antibody which specifically binds with an epitope located in the amino acid sequence ranging between amino acid sequence n 145 to 234 starting from the human CgA N-terminal end. The assay can be carried out by competition with marked CgA or by the sandwich method using two antibodies, for instance the amino acid sequence 219-234 and the marked sequence 145-197.
