A liquid crystal panel, an aperture-stop, a projection lens are arranged in this order from the object side in a data recording device. The center of the liquid crystal panel is shifted away from the optical axis (11a) of the taking lens with respect to the optical axis (68a) of the projection lens, so that the data displayed on the liquid crystal panel is imaged on the photographic film in a position near the optical axis (11a) and distant from the optical axis (68a). If the photographic film is curved along the length thereof so as to correct the curvature of the field of the taking lens, the liquid crystal panel is tilted with respect to a plane (68b) perpendicular to the optical axis (68a), and the image plane of the liquid crystal panel is formed on the photographic film along the curve thereof.
