A metal corner bead (10) having a center hub (14) and side wings (15, 15a) with a mesh (30, 30a, 30b) or fiber (30c) tape adhesively attached to the outer surfaces of the wings (15, 15a) and extending over the longitudinal edges (24, 24a) of the wings to make a non-cracking joint when compound is applied. The bead (10) has the end edges (19) cut at about 45 DEG to the hub centerline and a lead-in plastic bead (27) extending beyond one end edge to provide for rapid joining and alignment of the bead on long runs. The metal bead (10) has offset inwardly directed barbs (18, 18a) on the wings. |
