The hose bagging machine has a hopper (15) discharging small esp. light particulate items (2) into tube sub-divided into two (16, 20) sections separated by a centrifuge release outlet. The tube (16, 20) is surrounded by a sphere (22) with an outlet at the bottom (21) to the hose bag which is closed at the bottom by e.g. a clip (14). When the required load has accumulated in the tube (16), the centrifuge (19) rotates, accelerating the light items onto the sphere where they are captured and surrendered to the bag. The centrifuge accelerates the tube emptying process.
