The adjustable telephone stand is attached by means of a demountable clamp (1) to a desk (4). The stand includes two hinged together sets of parallogram lever supports (2, 3) which are counter-balanced by coil springs (7, 8). One hinge is provided with a clamping screw (10) to hold it in a predetermined position. A telephone carrier tray (5) is mounted on the end of the second parallelogram support and the telephone receiver (6) is placed on this tray. Attached to the carrier tray is a clamp (9) on which the hand set (6a) may be rested during a call to provide 'hands free' operation. The arrangement permits the telephone to be positioned anywhere at a desk convenient to an operator.
