<p>Safety device for road traffic or motor sport, formed by a hollow body which consists of material which is soft and elastic but suitable for transferring tensile force by fibre reinforcement and is subdivided into chambers. The safety device is under atmospheric air pressure. In the case of a collision, the energy is essentially destroyed by flow losses between individual chambers or the atmosphere. Reinforcing fibres of the collision wall applied in more than two directions 25, 26, 27, 28, or layers of random fibres or layers of needle felt maximize their puncture resistance. Specially adapted valve openings change the characteristics of the barrier according to the collision speed. In sports events for different types of sports, the valve openings can correspondingly adapt the characteristics of the barrier to these types of sport. A strapping system and fastening brackets reduce the tendency of the barrier to lift up.</p> |
