The invention relates to a method to evaluate cytokine functions by monitoring cytokine actions in tissues by recording changes in levels of individual cytokine responsive genes that form a gene expression patternas well as the use of a cytokine dependent gene expression pattern in different tissues to monitor cytokine responses with the purpose of testing and screening for pharmacological analogues of said cytokines or selecting proteins useful for the diagnoses of pathological changes dependent on cytokines. |
