PURPOSE:To prevent the drop of a carrier to a copying part or the increase of the load of a cleaning device and obtain a stable image by recovering the carrier which is attached on a photoconductor in the generation of anomaly, when the copying machine is restarted. CONSTITUTION:In the normal operation of a copying machine, a carrier is electrified to the reverse polarity to the toner because of the toner which frictionally electrified, and the toner is repelled toward a photoconductor 1 by the development bias, and the carrier is held on the surface of a sleeve 4A by a magnet. When anomaly is generated, the development bias to the development sleeve 4A is interrupted, and the carrier in electrification is attracted and attached on the surface of the photosensitive body in the relation with the polarity of the surface potential of the photoconductor 1. Accordingly, before the revolution of the photoconductor 1 after the dissolution of anomaly, the development sleeve 4A is turned only for a certain time in the state where the development bias is applied similarly in the formation of an image. Accordingly, the carrier can be attracted to the surface of the sleeve 4A by the magnet as the time when normally operated. |
