PURPOSE:To increase the bonding strength between a cam ring and the ceramics liner concerned and improve its reliability by a method wherein a tubular rubber mold, on the inner surface of which a large number of axially extending grooves are arranged at intervals, is arranged so as to surround a columnar mandrel in order to fill molding material between the mandrel and the rubber mold and, after that, the molding material is pressurized by applying hydrostatic pressure on the outer surface of the rubber mold. CONSTITUTION:In a forming mold 10, a mandrel 11 has a columnar part 11a, a flange part 11b, a stepped part 11c and a columnar projected part 11d, while a rubber mold 12 is a bottomed tubular form, on the inner peripheral surface of which a large number of axially extending grooves 12a are formed nearly at equal intervals and at the inner surface of the opening part of which a stepped part 12b is formed for engagingly assembling to the stepped part 11c of the mandrel 11. By filling molding material between the mandrel 11 and the rubber mold 12 and, after that, pressurizing by applying hydrostatic pressure on the outer surface of tire rubber mold 12, the molding material is compacted into a formed body 13. At that time, a large number of splines 14 are simultaneously formed on the outer peripheral surface of the formed body 13. After demolding and passing through sintering process, a ceramics liner 15 is obtained. The liner 15 is assembled by engaging the splines 14 with the grooves 4a of tire cam ring 4 of a water pump. |
