The door bolt comprises a handle control mechanism having a toothed wheel (10) acting on one or more locking parts, such as a half round bolt. The toothed wheel has a mechanism (18) which returns it to its initial rest position comprising a rack (19) and pinion (20) and a spring (21). The rack teeth (26), beyond an initial displacement phase, gear down the rack movement relative to rotation of the toothed wheel in one direction. The rack has several teeth (27) meshing, at the end of its travel, with the toothed wheel which progressively increase in size, leading to a progressive reduction of nominal diameter (28) of the toothed wheel. The toothed wheel has several teeth (29) which mesh with specific teeth (27) of the rack. Gear reduction is effected during the final movement phase of the toothed wheel. |
