IODOPHOR COMPOSITIONS FOR PREVENTING MASTITIS

Iodophor compositions for preventing mastitis which would freeze in winter a nd exert bactericidal effect comparable to the conventional preparations even a t elevated dilution rates. These compositions comprise iodine, iodides, organi c acids, nonionic surfactants having HLB of 6 to 15 and water. When diluted 10 - fold, such a composition shows a viscosity (V1) of 20 to 3000 mm2/s and a ratio of the viscosity of the composition per se (V2) to the viscosity of th e diluted composition (V1), i.e., (V2)/(V1) of 0.05 to 20.
