Data transmission method for communication between programming apparatus and e.g. hearing aid

The method involves transmitting data and clock impulses by a programming apparatus to e.g. a hearing aid for individual adaptation of the specific data of the hearing aid. A single data line is used for the data transmission and different clock impulses are put the line. The digital data are recovered at the hearing aid using clock impulse variation and are processed using the transmitted clock. A clock impulse width variation is used for the clock impulse variation. Preferably, the data transmission between the programming apparatus and the hearing aid is accomplished by using a serial interface.
