Electronic signalling system for vehicle

The system comprises a manually operable three position turn signal switch. An electromagnetic detent unit is provided in either left or right positions. An oscillator (49) is provided, whose frequency is larger than a standard flashing frequency. A frequency divider (50) with a reset port is clocked by the oscillator to produce a periodic wave train at standard flashing frequency. Electronic switches (20,31,70,101) are connected in series between power source and the electromagnetic detent unit and between signal lamps (17,36,67,102) and power source respectively. A first logic circuit performs standard vehicle turn signalling, a standard vehicular hazard warning and a standard vehicular brake signalling. A counter (101) which has a reset port (59) is clocked by the frequency divides. A single short (42) has input and output ports is provided. A second logic circuit is connected to the input port of the single shot. The output port is connected to the frequency divider reset port and counter reset port in parallel. A third logic circuit actuates the electromagnetic detent unit whenever either the turn signal switch contact is closed unless the counter reaches a set count. The single shot produces a single reset pulse for frequency divider and counter when either of the turn signal contacts are closed or hazard warning switch (74) is closed. A first logic sub-circuit actuates the electromagnetic detent unit whenever either turn signal switch contact is closed unless counter reaches a set count.
